Swim School
Swim Australia registers Swim Schools teaching swimming & water safety that meet the following criteria:
- Consent by Government Authority to operate
- Program is supervised by an ASCTA accredited teacher or equivalent
- Agree to abide by National guidelines as determined by ASCTA
Swim Australia provides three levels of recognition for Swim Schools in its network. This will be as follows:
Registered. As is current practice, all Swim Schools in the Swim Australia network will still be ‘Registered’ with Swim Australia, having met the basic requirements. Such registration will still allow access to the current wide range of high quality products and services.
Accredited. Swim Schools Registered with Swim Australia now have the option of applying to become a Swim Australia Accredited Swim School. Many more requirements need to be met, including ‘passing’ an ‘inspection’. Accreditation will be accompanied by a range of additional benefits.
Awards of Excellence. Swim Schools Accredited with Swim Australia will have the option of applying for various Awards of Excellence. The standards, naturally, will be ‘best practice’.

Swim School Accreditation
In order to become an Accredited Swim Schools you must first be a Registered Swim School. See above as how to become a Registered Swim School. Benefits of Accreditation:
The Swim School Accreditation process will facilitate benchmarking, enable Swim Schools to ensure their practices are at a high level, allow for a further point of differentiation and grow the credibility of the industry in the eyes of the public and government alike. The Swim School would still receive all the features of being a Registered Swim School plus:
- Recognition in SwimUPDATE of Accredited Swim School status
- Listing on Swim Australia website stipulating that you are an Accredited Swim School
- Accredited Swim School Certificate and Stickers
- Access to use of Swim Australia Accredited Swim School logo
- 5% discount on all SwimSTORE purchases
- 10% discount on Swim School Insurance when purchased through Marsh Insurance
