Master Classes
The Master Classes are for those in pursuit of excellence. They can willingly (or force themselves to!) ‘get out of their comfort zone’ – by taking on the challenges thrown at them in the Master Classes.
Of course, Swim Australia must ensure the material is highly relevant and that the presenters are ‘top shelf’. They don’t come any better than:
- Australia’s own Bruce Sullivan – Leadership/Lifestyle Inventories
- Jeff Metzger, USA – ‘Boot Camp’ for Entrepreneurial Swim Schools
Leadership Master Class
The Leadership Master Class, conducted by the inimitable Bruce Sullivan of PACE Learning, is based around the Life Style Inventories (LSI) 1 & 2. LSI 1 looks at your perceptions of your leadership and management styles and abilities, while LSI 2 collates the perceptions of your colleagues/associates (up to 5) on the same matter. LSI 1 & 2 questionnaires are completed on-line with the results collated and placed into an extensive report. More information on LSI 1 & 2 is attached.
The process is very useful in itself; however, its value magnifies manyfold when followed-up with a workshop that not only helps you analyse and interpret the results but also guides you towards improvement. And no other LSI expert knows the Swim School game like Bruce Sullivan! … so he’s our man for the Workshop.
“Bruce was brilliant in the way he could put the different management styles into perspective. Receiving and interpreting the LSI 2 data was an eye-catching experience. Actually setting aside some time to work through the book on ways that could improve certain areas was invaluable.”

Put all this together, and then add in the networking opportunities afforded by the event – with an option to tie it in with the Swim Australia Conference (only one lot of travel!) – and you have the perfect occasion to reinvigorate yourself for another Swim School year.

Boot Camp is NOT for Everyone
Is BOOT CAMP for everyone?
No, it’s not. BOOT CAMP is an investment and, like any investment, one size does not fit all. BOOT CAMP is for those Swim School Owners or managers who intend to make a career in this industry: short-timers will not reap value, as BOOT CAMP is not a quick-fix. Also, closed-minded individuals should invest their money elsewhere. BOOT CAMP’S greatest benefits come from shifts in core beliefs and percepts about the way our industry works and I know from experience, close-minded folks cannot muster the courage to let go of old beliefs, a necessary first step if one is to embrace new, more accurate beliefs.
What about small Swim Schools?: can a small operation benefit?
Oh my gosh. Absolutely! The size of your club has absolutely no bearing on the value you will receive. BOOT CAMP focuses on a nine-step strategy to help you establish and reach your goals. In fact, attending BOOT CAMP before one first opens their doors for business is the best way to get a Swim School business humming right from the get-go.
