Deck Supervisor

Monday to Friday 3.00pm - 6.00pm and Saturday 8.00am to 11.30am. This position requires a mature person experienced in the learn to swim industry. Exceptional interpersonal skills necessary to interact with both customers and staff.
Duties include managing staff timetables, assisting in the water and interacting with out parents.

The Logan North Aquatic & Fitness Centre, located in Underwood, is currently seeking a passionate, motivated and qualified Aquatic Supervisor to lead and motivate a team of approximately 80 casual aquatic professionals. The centre hosts more than 150,000 visitors annually and offers a range of facilities and programs to the community. It provides an indoor and an outdoor heated swimming pool, fitness and leisure pools as well as a refurbished gymnasium and café.
Escape the constraints of office work with this exciting outdoor role. As the Aquatic Supervisor you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of enthusiastic staff at this busy facility. Not one day is the same so this role offers plenty of variety for the right person. On a daily basis you will be an important part of the recreational and aquatic activities the centre offers, including learn to swim, club & squad swimming, school carnivals, pool parties, holiday programs and personal training. In addition, you will be a member of the rapidly growing and award winning ‘aqualogan Laurie Lawrence’ Learn to Swim program. The centre offers a fun and supportive team environment and discounted pool entry and swim lessons for your immediate family.
For you to be successful in this position you will need to be highly motivated aquatics professional with strong operation and staff supervision skills aswell as significant experience as a supervisor / manager of a large scale aquatics environment. As a requirement you will need to hold current Pool Plant Operators, Pool Lifeguard, Applied First Aid and Resuscitation certificates. An Austswim or Swim Australia Qualification is desirable but not essential however you must be willing to develop yourself and obtain certification if successful for the role.

Swimming Teachers
Instructors are provided with all teaching equipment and shifts can be flexible to suit instructor availability.
Instructors need to have the Austswim or Swim Australia swimming teacher qualification before they can commence paid employment. If you don't already have one of these qualifications, we can provide assistance to successful applicants in parts of this training.
Skills and attributes:
A swimming background does help in becoming an instructor, although is not essential, as communication skills and an ability to relate to kids and their parents is of greater importance.
ACCESS TO YOUR OWN TRANSPORT TO TRAVEL BETWEEN CLASSES IS ESSENTIAL
Experience:
Swimming teaching experience is preferable, and previous experience working with children is advantageous.
Hours:
We teach classes Monday – Saturday, with the most popular lesson times being after school (3.30-6pm) and Saturday mornings. Shifts can be flexible to instructor availability.
