Nitro Gets Wet
Posted: 11/02/2009
Australian Unity Learn to Swim Ambassador Hayley Lewis had a special guest in her Coorparoo State School squad this morning. The Shak’s Nitro churned through plenty of laps with impressive effort. Nitro took Hayley’s stroke tips on board – keen to become a more efficient swimmer to help out with his surfing passion.
Nitro was joined by Swim Australia Ambassador Karni Liddell to assess the wonderful swimming ability of 12 year old Hannah Sullivan. Hannah’s Down Syndrome has not stopped her from becoming a ‘fish’, having benefited enormously from starting swimming lessons from 6 months of age.
This episode of The Shak, a national weekdays afternoon program on Channel 9, is designed to highlight what a fantastic activity swimming is. It will go to air when the new series starts shortly. The whole event was made possible thanks to the wonderful support of Australian Unity. It should also be noted that Nitro and the whole crew were a pleasure to ‘work’ with – a real credit to The Shak.
